Training Levels
During initial enrollment the student’s chess skills will be evaluated for the following levels.
Beginner
Students in this level are not familiar with chess. They will learn the chess pieces, how to set up the chess board, how the pieces move, rules of the game and will receive one-on-one assistance from the instructors.
Intermediate
Students knows the chess board, chess pieces, and moves. Students will learn chess plays, tactics, castling.
How the game of chess is the same as the game of life.
Plan, visualize, and think before you move.
Advanced
Students are good chess players and need more training on strategy. Check and checkmate. Students will play with other advanced students and with on-line players. Students will learn about available chess scholarships and how to apply.
Tournament Ready
Students in this level are ready to compete in tournaments.
They have acquired major chess skills, winning strategies, consequences of their moves and tournament etiquette.
